The new general manager of The Moorings in Carrabelle says the hotel and marina are “going back to business as usual.”
“Customers and friends are happy to see that,” said Brian Lowe, who started his new job this year on New Year’s Day. “We have the same great staff and we’ll have to put on more housekeepers.”

The familiar figure a generation of Carrabelle children dubbed "the candy man" -- bald as an egg, chaw bulging a cheek, sharp brown eyes twinkling as he distributed hard candies from apparently bottomless pockets to all -- has died at the age of 77.
